illustration masterpiece

I’m always amazed by the creativity of Kat Macleod and her beautiful illustrations/collages. From NYC plastic bags, to gorgeous fabrics and watercolours, they create such beautiful artworks which you can now purchase. As seen in Vogue Entertaining & Travel, these beautiful editions are printed on Museo Max (a deluxe heavy weight 300 gsm , cream coloured, slightly textured stock). Each print is signed and numbered by Kat and embossed with Pharos Editions chop in limited edition of 50. They would look lovely on any wall, and would be a fabulous gift. Georgie, I hope you’re not looking at this! They can be bought through Lamington Drive.

This is the new ad/mini film for Chanel No.5 featuring Audrey Tatou directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The scenery, cinematography, outfits are simply breath taking. Takes me back to our recent trip in Paris, the old stations and trains (sigh!). Watch it here
Liberty love
CategoriesOver the past week, I’ve come across so many examples of people using Liberty of London fabrics again. The soft and feminine prints are popping up everywhere – maybe its the nostalgia of the prints that help us create our little own pretty haven from the rest of the world? I’ve just picked out a few images, but if you see any more images – email me, I would love to see them.

When I was in New York late 2007, I passed two of the most fabulous window settings I had ever seen. I can’t remember the exact street, but it was down in Lower East Side just before Broadway.

Categorieselki design has been our little creative child for some years, and its been in the past 6 months that we’ve brought our little baby out into the world. So let me introduce ourselves: emma and georgina kaveney. I (em) is a qualified graphic designer and have been working in an inner-city design studio for the past three years, whilst dabbling in my passion of interiours and painting outside of work. My sister, Georgina, is outragiously talented in all things creative. Having studied fashion design, cheffing and now working as a food stylist for one of Australia’s largest food magazines.
Our passions are very similar and we’re able to bounce of each other, which is the basis for any great professional relationship. Our love for old treasures (furniture, fabrics, books, jewellery, silver) and vintage shops – as well as introducing modern twists here and there.
elki is a business where we can create childrens clothes and homewares from beautiful fabric with refined dressmaking skills. Mum use to make all our dresses when we were smaller with the beautiful Liberty of London fabric. Probably most people have come across it, and yes it was a little ‘abused’ in the 80’s. But we using Liberty fabric in modern ways to ‘mix it up’ and avoid the ‘head to toe look’ of Liberty!
