Have been very busy in the design studio recently, here is the latest logo design for a florist in the Central West. Sheriden creates beautiful arrangements for all budgets and occasions. 3 petals will be at this weekends Bridal Expo in Dubbo, Sunday 4 July at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre. When I became engaged  January last year, I stumbled across one of most beautiful blogs, snippet & ink. Kathryn who writes the blog compiles the most amazing mood boards, ranging from all ‘themes’ and colour ranges – it is truely a delight to check in and discover a new mood board. Even if you’re not engaged or thinking about marriage, I think you’ll find them inspiring for all things – decorating a new room, dinner party decorations, invitations etc. Kathryn also offers beautiful ideas for the DIY and budget-conscious bride, so if you know of someone who has been recently engaged or even if they are close to their wedding date, you must pass it on. I certainly know I picked up many great ideas!

Recently whilst flicking through the new edition of Style (if you haven’t picked up your copy, do so now, best edition so far), I came across an ad for a beautiful new store in Canowindra, NSW, Bendy Street Emporium. Set in a gorgeous 100-year-old shop front in the main street of Canowindra, fondly known as ‘Bendy street’ (hence the name), owner Kate Barclay has hand picked each and every item, from beautiful cook books and kitchen essentials, to linen shirts and leather handbags, french baskets and linen, to funky gumboots! I visited Kate’s beautiful store yesterday and was in awe. I could have simply moved into the corner and live there forever. But the most exciting thing is Kate has decided to stock some of our elki products. So an order of duckie doorsteps will be heading down on Saturday. For those who do not live in the area, don’t dispair, Kate has a beautiful online store and you can buy everything online (don’t you just love the yellow/white stripes!). Please check it out, I just love discovering new and gorgeous places to shop (oh and I had to go back for one of the french baskets!)

Elki is very excited to be apart of the many talented designers in the new Shop Homemade, Canberra. This beautiful shop is filled to the brim with talented designers and just gorgeous products. The grand opening is tomorrow, so if you’re a local or dropping via Canberra, please go in and check it out. elki is featured on the hanging racks and will be restocking our stock with new products as we make them. Keep up to date with new products in Shop Homemade via their blog here. They also have a fantastic market, which we will be attending. The next one is June 5, 10am – 4pm. Definitely worth the drive to our Nation’s capital.

Welcome back! I’m sure I’m not the first one to say this, but “where has this year gone already?”. Its now February – I’ve been a terrible blogger, this is my first post for the year! I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas Break – shame the weather wasn’t all that glorious, but a lovely break indeed. I must admit, I have been a little re-occupied, my wedding is in 24 days (not that I’m counting!). So I have been tied up with designing place settings, favour cards, picking out menus, trying on my wedding dress (which of course the ever talented other half of elki Georgie is making) and many more. I can’t wait to post some of the photos of it all, after the wedding. Now back to elki. This year we’re keen to start stocking our products in some stores. And not just any store, we’re looking for stores who share the passion for unique and beautiful, handmade, Australian made clothing and homewares….at affordable prices. If you know of a store which we might be interested, please email us as we’d love to stock in a store near you.

We’re also expanding our range into boys wear. Georgie has designed some great shirts, with rolled up sleeves and half button down shirts which would outlast any rough  play. Available in both stripes and checks, both boys and girls. We will upload these products as soon as possible (unfortunately my camera was stolen over the weekend, so waiting for a new one to arrive). We also have some great linen shorts (elastic waisted), new Red ‘duckie’ doorsteps, laundry ticking bags and a few more up our sleeves.
